The 2023 China Cross-border E-commerce Fair opens in Fuzhou

On March 18, the 2023 China Cross-border E-commerce Fair (hereinafter referred to as “China Cross-border Fair”) opened at the Fuzhou Strait International Convention and Exhibition Center. The three-day exhibition will focus on the new ecology of going overseas, explore the innovation of foreign trade models, and help build a new platform for cross-border e-commerce development.

Stimulate the vitality of the “Digital Silk Road” industry

Seize new opportunities for cross-border e-commerce development

Customs data shows that China’s cross-border e-commerce imports and exports will be 2.11 trillion yuan in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 9.8%. Among them, exports were 1.55 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.7%. As a new force in China’s foreign trade, cross-border e-commerce is still full of momentum. Up to now, there are 165 cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zones nationwide, covering 31 provinces, showing the characteristics of expanding from the eastern and southern coastal areas to the inland provinces, and extending from central cities and provincial capitals to second- and third-tier cities.

In January this year, the State Council approved the establishment of China-Indonesia and China-Philippines Economic and Trade Innovation Development Demonstration Parks in Fujian, and the two sides will explore an international division of labor cooperation model with wider fields, higher levels and deeper integration of industrial chains, supply chains and value chains.

The industry is developing rapidly, the park is innovating and demonstrating, and the seemingly parallel two have produced new intersections and new integrations at the 2023 China Cross Fair. On the opening day of the exhibition, the signing ceremony of a series of cooperation projects in the global cross-border e-commerce ecosystem was successfully held, and several cross-border e-commerce internationalization projects based on the “Belt and Road” were written on the spot, which became the highlights of the main forum.

In this regard, Liang Yong, deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Fuzhou Area of Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone and executive deputy director of the Office of the Leading Group of China (Fuzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, said that “two countries and two parks” is not only a strategic fulcrum of economic cooperation between countries, but also an important industry carrier that can be focused on on the road of China’s cross-border e-commerce to go overseas.

In terms of globalization, at the opening ceremony, Ruan Weixing, founder of China Cross-Trade Fair, officially announced that 2023 is the first year of the globalization of China’s Cross-border Fair, from version 1.0 born in the dilemma, to version 2.0 that has grown into a benchmark, and then to version 3.0 that looks at the world, the original intention of “starting in China but not only in China” is being realized.

He said that the China Cross Fair will officially lead millions of Chinese traditional foreign trade enterprises and cross-border e-commerce enterprises to go overseas together, open up a better and more diversified international supply chain, cultivate a broader global market, and realize the dream of “buying the world, selling the world”.

In terms of digitalization, Deng Hai, general manager of Fujian Miduoduo Network Technology Co., Ltd., which is deeply engaged in overseas digital marketing, said, “Based on the development trend in recent years, the next stage of cross-border e-commerce dividends may come from the high efficiency and certainty brought by the digitalization of the whole process. “Traditional foreign trade is transforming, cross-border e-commerce is upgrading, and digitalization is not only a trend that enterprises should follow, but also an indispensable “weapon” for the next development.” Not only the government is promoting digital scenarios, but also the platform is strengthening digital empowerment, service providers are testing the water to apply digital technology, and first-line enterprises are crowding in exhibition forums and booths related to digital technology. The digital atmosphere can be seen everywhere at the China Cross Fair site.

Anchor new coordinates for the industry

Logistics is the “water” that carries cross-border e-commerce, finance is the “sail” that stimulates cross-border e-commerce, and the two are the power of “carrying boats” and “overturning boats” in cross-border e-commerce. The main forum of the China Cross Fair focuses on the theme of “logistics and finance at the same time, empowering cross-border e-commerce and reducing costs”, starting from the source, cutting in with logistics efficiency improvement and financial assistance, sorting out ideas for enterprises, discussing new opportunities for development, and exploring new prospects for development. The main forum was full of guests, no less pompous than the previous two sessions. The presentation of the “Top 30 Cross-border E-commerce Leaders” supported by Deloitte Intelligence was one of the highlights of the main forum, and the award-winning guests from all over the country were well deserved.

This year’s China Cross Fair launched the “Cross-border Outpatient Clinic” for the first time in the country, and the organizing committee set up a private zone, inviting senior experts from all over the country to the exhibition site to provide a large number of grassroots cross-border e-commerce enterprises with personalized Q&A services on how to improve their operational capabilities. This innovation was called the “big hands holding small hands” activity by Chen Danfeng, chairman of Fujian Huiyuan Cultural Development Group Co., Ltd., the organizer, and was also eagerly anticipated by ministries and commissions and heated discussions in the industry. According to the author’s random interviews, the event received praise from many companies who came to the scene to sincerely learn from the experience.

More than 30 e-commerce business associations from Jiangsu, Jilin, Shandong, Zhejiang and Chongqing also organized groups to purchase at the exhibition. The number of co-organizers, industry support units and special cooperation units of the China Cross Cross Fair entering 2023 has increased significantly, and the industry is more representative and more influential.

It is worth mentioning that this year’s China Cross Fair also responded to the additional needs of buyers in addition to participating in the exhibition, and launched value-added services that took buyers to visit the characteristic industrial belts around Ningde, Quanzhou and Nanping for free, and registered enthusiastically. The organizing committee also co-hosted the “2023 Fortune Global Opportunity and Amazon Cross-border E-commerce Summit Forum” with Amazon Global Selling to deeply analyze the cross-border advantages of local industrial belts, promote the “Blessing Products for the World” action in the field of cross-border e-commerce, and the on-site help desk also answered questions for participating enterprises from all over the world.

At the same time, through the exhibition area small class and other forms to bring a full range of industry dry goods to the majority of cross-border sellers. More than 50 activities were also held at the scene, including the cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone development and exchange conference, China’s cross-border e-commerce market channel private meeting, South American overseas forum, and the unique “Meili Chaozhou” themed wedding dress catwalk show.

The core of the cross-border e-commerce ecology is the comprehensive services represented by supply chain, traffic, and infrastructure construction such as logistics, and the China Cross Fair is an exhibition that organically integrates three elements.

Supply chain is the core of cross-border e-commerce’s core competitiveness. This year’s China Cross Fair continues to implement the purpose of focusing on transactions, with a scale of 70,000 square meters and a supply chain booth size of not less than 80%. The exhibition brought more than 60 industrial belts from more than 20 provinces and cities across the country, and many export-oriented well-known characteristic industrial belts across the country came to participate in the exhibition. Kangerda Group was also present to guide.

The national industrial belt is widely recognized by the exhibition, east to Shandong, west to Qinghai, north to Jilin, south to Hainan, more than one million industry hot products from the side to confirm the exhibition more representative of “Made in China”, and even two consecutive sessions in the exhibition to select the explosive lucky buyers excitedly said that this is simply the “cradle of explosive models”.

The author who came to visit the museum for three consecutive sessions noticed that a large number of well-known platforms with international popularity and industry influence in the industry are embodied. In addition to the local Alibaba International Station, Made in China, etc., Amazon Global Store, eBay, Walmart, Wish, Google, Shopify, OTTO from Europe and the United States, Meikeduo and Falabella from South America, Coupang from South Korea, Jiku from Africa and many other new and old friends of the Chinese Cross-border Fair gathered together to participate in the grand event. TEMU and Shein, the representative platforms of China’s cross-border e-commerce overseas platform “Four Little Dragons”, made their debut and held special closed-door sharing sessions.

Powerful service providers such as Zongteng, Panding, Miduoduo, Zixun, and Wanlihui once again gathered in Fuzhou, and Oracle, a well-known infrastructure service provider for cross-border e-commerce, also participated in the exhibition for the first time. Service providers have displayed exclusive offers on the spot, attracting enterprises to stop and understand.

Representatives from China Construction Bank’s Fujian Branch also said that many buyers and even exhibitors also expressed strong interest in the bank’s cross-border e-commerce financing products, and the promotional materials on the booth were sold out early on the first day of the launch.

Press the “accelerator key” for foreign trade enterprises

Helping the industry do something new

In the post-epidemic era, cross-border e-commerce is transforming from extensive to intensive farming mode, and the service supply chain has become a key element to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises – cross-border e-commerce enterprises have entered the competition stage of “customer acquisition + transformation + delivery + operation” integration efficiency optimization from the competition based on customer acquisition efficiency. In being big

At the same time, cross-border e-commerce needs to improve the full-link foreign trade operation capabilities.

At the booth of Alibaba International Station, which has participated in the exhibition in 2023, there is an endless stream of people who come to consult. The person in charge of the company said that in order to help small and medium-sized businesses better cope with the challenges of global trade uncertainty under the new situation, Alibaba International Station has now launched a full-link digital foreign trade service platform open to all foreign trade merchants, providing cross-border merchants with one-stop services for the whole process of pre-sale, sale and after-sale, helping merchants receive orders, send goods and receive payment.

At the exhibition site, platforms and service providers that bring real dry goods to enterprises abound. In the face of the blowout demand for foreign trade transformation and upgrading in the post-epidemic era, not only buyers have a strong desire for development, but also exhibitors are full of motivation.

Fujian Miduoduo’s booth has been crowded since its opening. As an exhibitor specializing in cross-border e-commerce digital marketing services, the company’s “Juduoduo” cross-border e-commerce comprehensive transaction service platform shows independent website construction, Google promotion, rice warehouse cross-border dropshipping and other businesses are widely popular at the exhibition.

The innovative “rice warehouse” cross-border packaging business at the exhibition solves the pain points of high warehousing and transportation costs for small and medium-sized sellers with third-party services, and the effect of reducing costs is obvious. At the scene, I strongly felt that providing enterprises with a package of overseas solutions such as selection, sales, and transportation under the goal of cost reduction and efficiency improvement is no longer the unique way of a few enterprises, but a choice that more and more cross-border e-commerce enterprises have the same.

Industry insiders said that this year’s cross-border fair fully demonstrated the characteristics of China’s cross-border e-commerce industry with strong resilience, great potential and full vitality. On the other hand, as the epidemic flattened and economic development entered the fast lane of strong recovery, more and more Chinese enterprises embarked on the road of organizing groups to go abroad to “grab orders”. Grasping “going out” has become the consensus of enterprises seeking the future.

Chen Danfeng told the author that in 2023, the China Cross Fair will go hand in hand with China’s foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce, and has agreed with partners in the United States, the Philippines, Thailand and other countries respectively to build the China Cross Fair into the country’s first cross-border e-commerce brand exhibition to hold exhibitions overseas, and promote the internationalization of Chinese exhibition brands. China Cross-border Fair connects China and the world, introduces more high-quality international enterprises including supply chains, platforms, service providers, etc. in batches in one-stop, introduces more abundant overseas industrial belt resources, builds a new bridge of foreign trade, helps enterprises go to sea early, go to sea quickly, and go to sea more, seize the “window opportunity period” and “exhibition” to gain global business opportunities, so that Chinese enterprises can “go out” more steadily and have a stronger heart.
